About Kellen Maicher

Kellen is a multimedia developer and graphic designer currently serving as an Assistant Professor for the Department of Computer Graphics Technology at Purdue University. In his professional experience he has worked as a multimedia project manager and independent new media consultant.

Kellen has been designing Web applications and graphics-related projects for ten years. For the last five years he has taught students in the College of Technology how to build everything from concept illustrations to sophisticated interactive Web applications.

His research interests focus on the assessment and validation of Human Factors related to computer graphics education and production. Kellen holds an M.S. in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University, as well as a B.S. in both Biology and Computer Graphics Technology.

Kellen currently teaches courses in Human Factors and interactive multimedia development. He has taught or co-taught eight different courses in his tenure as a CGT faculty member, instructing on topics such as illustration, Web design, and multimedia development.

In addition to his professional experience, teaching, and research activities he has presented and instructed at both national and international conferences. Kellen has been actively involved in educational partnerships with peer institutions abroad in Russia, Poland, and Norway. He is a member of the International Program Committee of GraphiCon , Epsilon Pi Tau, the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) , and currently serves as Chapter Advisor and Treasurer for the Alpha Xi Chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma.
